Dominique Donner will definately take the 5FM/Energade triathlete series female championship title. She is more well known as a model than triathlete, having been seen in a few TV adverts.

She spoke to us on her sport and future. "Over the last year I noticed a change in my body. I became stronger, which helped me win." She tells us that older woman do better than their younger counterparts. "Woman do much better in the sport at an older age as opposed to younger", she said.

Dominique says she is not a model that trains hard, but that she is an athlete who does modelling work to get a regular income. "I started modelling about a year ago. I was always very shy, but at the moment it helps with the bills and allows me to focus on training more."

Dominique is a swimmer that taught herself the running and cycling skills needed. As a junior she obtained WP colours in swimming. Swim is her strongpoint and she is often first out of the water . It takes the good runners a while to catch her, and this is her advantage.

Now the SA and Africa Champs lie ahead - as well as the long distance championship (4km swim, 125km cycle and 30km run) in Nice, France.
