Lets get the bad news out of the way first, boys...
she's taken. The pleasing-to-the-eye person pictured
here is South African tiathlon star Dominique
Donner, 27.
Lakeside, Cape
Town based professional athlete Dominique, who
boasts Springbok triathlon and biathlon colours,
is a former WP swimmer hoping to bring glory to
the country through our triathlon team already
hungrily anticipating the Sydney 2000 Olympics.
In heavy training,
she runs 50km a week, swims 20km and cycles 250km,
but she confesses that despite the watchful eye
of SA coach John Hawley, of the Sports Science
Institute, and assistant Gary Palmer, she is permitted
to let her hair down at times.
"You have
to, otherwise you'd go out of your mind,"
she says. "But I do have to stay away from
oily foods and go easy on the ice-cream and chocolate."
